Najbolje plaćeni ragbista na svijetu: Ganjao sam žene, pio alkohol, a onda sam spoznao Allaha

Za mnoge u BiH ime ragbijaša Sonija Bila Vilijamsa (Sonny Bill Williams) je nepoznato, ali ovaj igrač sa Novog Zelanda je početkom mjeseca postao najbolje plaćeni ragbista na svijetu, a nedavno je progovorio o privatnom životu. 

Naime, prije deset godina, u periodu kad je igrao za francuski Tulon, Vilijams je postao musliman. Kako sam kaže, taj period njegovog života bio je “divlji i na suprotnom kraju spektra od onog gdje je danas”.

– Znam svoje mane, no one su me ojačale. Oprosti mi moje grijehe. Allahu, blagoslovi one meni bliske. Čuvaj ih, pogotovo djecu. Čuvaj nas na Zemlji, neka budemo zahvalni na onome što imamo”, molitva je koju taj 34-godišnji sportaš svakog dana izgovara nakon klanjanja.

Prisjetio se svog života prije nego što je otkrio Boga.

Nedavno je potpisao ugovor vrijedan deset miliona dolara s timom Toronto Wolfpack, a tvrdi da je zadovoljan svojim životom danas.

Dodaje da ne postoji osjećaj usporediv s “pravom ljubavi” koju osjeća prema vrhunskim sportašima koji su također muslimani, poput nogometaša Frenka Riberija (Franck Ribery) i igrača kriketa Hashima Amle.

Nije tajna da se u današnjem društvu mi muslimani osjećamo gotovo posramljeno što smo muslimani. Ja se tako ponosim time što sam musliman, iskrenošću u toj vjeri i tim što mi je dala. Predivno je vidjeti druge sportaše koji se time ponose – tvrdi.

Prošle godine išao je na hadž u Meku i Medinu, a to iskustvo opisuje kao nevjerovatno.
